James Louis Roach

James Louis Roach, 67, died at 4:45 p.m. April 27, 2008, at Lima Memorial Health System.
He was born Aug. 19, 1940, in Florence, Ala., to Quinn and Jewell Beachum Roach, who preceded him in death. On May 29, 1964, he married Ada Mae Morris, who survives in Lima.
Mr. Roach had worked as a sand tester at General Motors Corp., for more than 30 years. He was a member of Local Union 211.
Survivors also include a godson, Quincy Morris, of Lima; five daughters, Tawana L. Parker, of Columbus, and Carmen R. Bell, Latitia F. Roach, Patricia Ulmer and Diane Sorrels, all of Lima; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and five sisters, Sarah (John) Woods, of Chicago, Mary Cleve, Lucy (Larry) Shurelds and Marlene Baker, all of Lima, and Emma Lewis, of Pomona, Calif.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Howard Roach; and a sister, Betty Boult.
Services will begin at 1 p.m. Monday at New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church. The Rev. C.M. Manley will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Jones-Clark Funeral Home, where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m.
