Line forms early in Ottawa for H1N1 flu shots
Comments 0 | Recommend 0OTTAWA - Area residents started lining up by 9 a.m. Wednesday morning to receive H1N1 flu shots made available to a target group of high risk people.
“We didn’t expect this kind of crowd,” said Josh Walters, Assistant EMA director. Shots for health care workers were administered on Friday.
The shots were offered from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. By the early afternoon a line of people stretched around the parking lot and down the alley.
Walters said they had 700 shots available on Wednesday.
Four cases of H1N1 have been positively identified in Putnam County including three school age children and one adult.
