Schroeder, Jerwers win in Putnam's Republican commissioner primaries

OTTAWA — 11:55 p.m., March 4 —  Incumbent Vincent Schroeder and Travis Jerwers will represent the Republican Party in November’s general election for Putnam County commissioner.Schroeder, a first-term commissioner, came out on top in a three-way battle against Daniel R. Ellerbrock and Joseph D. Recker. Jerwers, who narrowly lost in the general election in 2006, topped former commissioner Ronald H. Leopold.Jerwers will face Democrat Bob Riepenhoff, who was unopposed in his primary.
