Kathryn I. “Kaye” Hobensack George

Lima - Kathryn I. “Kaye” Hobensack George, 79, died at 6:15 p.m. Nov. 18, 2009, at her residence.
She was born Sept. 12, 1930, in Harrod to Willis B. and G. Marie Dillinger Winegardner, who preceded her in death. She had been married to Carl L. Hobensack, whom she married in 1948, and he died Jun 17, 1987. On Dec. 1, 1973, she married Ronald W. George, who survives in Lima.
Mrs. George was a 1948 graduate of Harrod High School, Harrod. She was a member of Harrod Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school. She was a homemaker and had been a cook at Harrod schools. She had also worked at Triplett Corp, Bluffton, and Monsanto and Ford Motor Co. Lima Engine Plant, both in Lima. She had designed floral arrangements at White Cottage Rental. She was a loving and wonderful grandmother and great-grandmother. She never missed a sporting event of her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, painting, shopping and bowling. She loved tending to her flower and vegetable gardens.
Survivors also include two sons, Tim D. Hobensack, of Lima, and Tony D. (Cathy) Hobensack, of Harrod; two stepsons, Ronnie P. George, of Louisiana, and Tim M. George, of Tennessee; a stepdaughter, Pam K. Hutchinson, of Elida; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Kenneth (Alice) Winegardner and Kurt (Sis) Winegardner, both of Harrod, and Karl (Joanne) Winegardner, of Denver; several nephews; several nieces, several cousins; several friends; and four brothers-in-law, Richard George, of Lima, Robert George, of Cridersville, Roger (Cheryl) George, of St. Clairsville, and Rex Shepherd, of Lima.
She was preceded in death by an infant sister.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at Chiles-Laman Funeral Homes, Lewis Eastside Chapel. Pastor Gerbert Darlington will officiate. Burial will be in Auglaize Cemetery, Harrod.
Friends may call from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Rita’s Hospice.
