Putnam County employers get new health-care option
Comments 0 | Recommend 0
The
Northwest Ohio Health Partnership (NWOHP) and Ohio Health Choice, Inc. (OHC) have aligned to form an
expanded health-care provider network available to participating employers and
employees in Hancock and surrounding counties.
As
of Jan. 1, 2009, additional access to providers outside the NWOHP local
service area will be available through the statewide OHC network. The new
provider network will be known as "NWOHP Choice" and will be
available to employers in Hancock, Hardin, Putnam, Seneca and Wyandot Counties,
as well as Bluffton and North Baltimore.
Employers
who select the NWOHP Choice network for their employee health plan will benefit
from a network with more hospitals and more physicians statewide than currently
offered through NWOHP. They'll also receive treatment discounts at local
providers, as well as at "high complexity" referral hospitals like
the Cleveland Clinic.
In
addition, NWOHP Choice employer groups will become a part of the Employer Data
Project ("EDOC"), a local collaborative effort that strives to
proactively improve quality while lowering cost of care to employer health plan
sponsors.
The
Hancock Medical Group (HMG) physician association and Blanchard Valley Health
System (BVHS) will continue to sponsor NWOHP
NWOHP is a Preferred Provider
Organization (PPO) designed for northwest Ohio employers.
