No problems reported in Putnam County during congressional vote
Comments 0 | Recommend 0OTTAWA — 10 a.m., Dec. 11 — Election officials in Putnam County said so far this morning, things have been running smoothly in the special congressional election.Voters have until 7:30 p.m. to vote for Republican Bob Latta or Democrat Robin Weirauch for Ohio’s 5th District Congressional seat, which has been vacant since Paul Gillmor died this fall.Director Ginger Price said there have been no reports to her office of major problems. Price said one machine had problems in Columbus Grove, but the election was proceeding smoothly using another machine.Voter turnout through mid-morning was light as expected, Price said. There have been no reports of lines at any polling places, she said. Putnam County has been on oversight from the Secretary of State’s office after reports of lines and programming errors on computer cards in the November election.A light but steady rain has been falling across Putnam County.
