Owners grateful for community support following fire

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

Letter to the editor
On the morning of Monday, Jan 26, our business was struck by a fire. Although it caused much damage to the building, we were very fortunate that none of the three people in the building at the time were injured. We are very thankful for the volunteer firemen of Glandorf, Ottawa and Bluffton who gave of themselves to greatly minimize the loss. The personnel involved with investigating the fire were amazed at the minimal collateral damage.
We are also very thankful for the neighboring businesses and townspeople who pitched in to help those in the adjoining building save their merchandise and equipment. We very much appreciate the kind words of encouragement, the thoughtful cards sent and the innumerable offers of help.
We very much look forward to getting put back together and re-opening our doors to where we can once again serve our guests at Touches from the Heart. There truly is no other place we would rather be. Thanks to all who make this community what it is!
Ron and Julie Honigford
Owners of Touches from the Heart in Glandorf

From the editor: Many of you have expressed concerns about some of the harsh anonymous comments from readers. To remedy that, we are introducing new features. You can create your own blog, publish your news and share your photos with the community. Once you fill out a simple form and leave a verifiable e-mail address, you can set up your profile page. It will display all of your contributions and allow you to track issues and easily connect with others.

We want our site to be a place where people discuss and debate ideas that foster stronger communities. We built this for you. Please take care of it. Tolerate broad thinking, but take action against obscene or hateful material. Make it a credible and safe place worth preserving and sharing.
