Local Modern Woodmen members plant trees.
Comments 0 | Recommend 0KALIDA - On October 10, local Modern Woodmen of American members gave a lasting gift to Kalida. Members of Modern Woodmen Camp 4415 gathered at Kalida Park to plant two crab trees. They also worked together to plant shrubs and landscaping at the park.
The project was part of the organization’s Good Neighbors Program, a nationwide program that gives Modern Woodmen camps across the country $500 for hands-on repair and community beautification projects.
“As a member-based fraternal organization, Modern Woodmen strives to give member families opportunities to volunteer and enhance their communities,” says Esther Goebel, local Modern Woodmen camp secretary. “Our Good Neighbors Program does both.
The Kalida Park is a joint project of the Kalida Lions, Kalida Athletic Boosters and village of Kalida. The current site under development consists of approximately 70 acres and is located just north of Kalida on both sides of Northland Drive/Road M.
