Prosecuting officer doesn?t make sense
Comments 0 | Recommend 0TAMARA THOMPSON, Columbus GroveHow can people not take sides in the fatal shooting? We have a police officer whom citizens pay to keep our streets safe faced with two misdemeanor charges. How ridiculous. He was doing his job. What is so hard to understand about that?Drug dealing is illegal. Letting illegal activity go on in your home is illegal. Not to mention the children who were put in this dangerous position with no thought about them, not until the blame could be shifted to a police officer doing his job, he didn’t put those precious children in that position.I do not see any justice in Lima police Sgt. Joe Chavalia being charged with anything. He was doing his job, but the criminal — Anthony Terry — is allowed to negotiate a deal. If there hadn’t been illegal activity going on, Tarika Wilson would still be alive. Her son Sincere would not have gotten injured. The other children would not have been put in such dangerous conditions. Terry would not be sitting in jail and Chavalia’s world wouldn’t be turning upside down for doing his job.Come by the bus loads? What kind of silliness is this? It’s time to put the blame where it belongs. Criminal activity is illegal and will reap consequences. That is why law officials are here: to uphold the law.It really is a sad situation when pastors get involved in taking this situation to a racism level. My advice: Open your eyes, realize right from wrong and pray.
